1500-acre organic farm. Pigs, dairy, arable, agroforestry, small-scale vegetables - field, no dig and poly tunnel. We have occasional openings for WWOOFers when we have accommodation available. All our farm activities are fairly independent so a level of experience of working with animals is required but we're happy to teach the vegetable and agroforestry elements. This is a very commercial operation, with some heavy machinery involved. A driving licence is desirable. Due to the wide range of activities for WWOOFers we prefer stays of a minimum of 4 weeks at a time. Accommodation is available in one of our shared farm cottages and WWOOFers live independently, not with a family. WWOOFers therefore need to be over 18 years of age, preferably older, and willing to be relatively independent from time to time. Meals are available in the pub and essential groceries are available from the farm shop. Organic methods: Wholly soil association organic methods Certifications: Soil Association Projects: we would be particularly happy if WWOOFers are keen to participate in vegetable growing and all it entails (sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting); the developing agroforestry (planting, mulching, pruning, harvesting); enabling the farm to remain accessible to walkers via our network of public and permissive footpaths; and for those with experience with livestock, sharing in supporting their welfare. I stayed for 5 weeks in April and really enjoyed it! Read the profile carefully the independency and solidarity of it was accurate to my stay and it could get lonely if you're a social person! I mainly worked with/for Paul the "Tree Man" and Pete the "Veg. Man" who were both nice and learned. Given the season when I was helping Paul I was mainly taking/replacing tree guards and taking stock of winter damage. With Pete I did lots of planting/weeding of crops. It was mentioned I could work in the pub ( this would have been a social option! ) but I choose to stick with the veg/trees side of it. There is a hired team of workers who care for the livestock so I only saw the operations related to them once. The food is absolutely amazing and I had so many delicious meals. The kitchen/pub/farm/hotel's staff team are a great group of people and I often had great conversations with everyone.

I stayed just a week but It is definitely the right place to stay more. Since the beginning everyone is so nice to you and they try to make you feel as you’re at home. I was able to work a bit with almost everything despite my short stay. Helen and Tim are fantastic. The whole team was amazing. Being with them made you want to do your best all the time

I don’t think it’s possible to write a more glowing review than I can provide for Eastbrook Farm. This place was home to me for roughly 30 days and saying it was home was an understatement. I was looked after incredibly well by Tim, picking me up from the train station, making sure I was introduced to everyone, made sure whenever he saw me that I was happy, comfortable, well fed and if there was anything I needed from him. The rest of the staff were absolutely incredible, from the farm crew to the crew at the pub and in the kitchen who looked after me. The accomodation is clean, comfortable, good facilities, fresh linen on demand whenever you need it, great heating system and is right in town. The locals are all incredible, making sure that if I needed anything from the local shops or needed to go anywhere that I had a lift with them or they could get me whatever I needed. I could go on and on but all I would like to say is thank you. I can’t wait for the day that I am able to pop back through and have a beer with Tim and the crew and see how successful this town and the business is in the future. All the best Harry

I had the time of my life at Eastbrook Farm. It was an opportunity to experience country life alongside incredibly talented people who welcomed me into their lives and trusted me with all sort of fun tasks. I had a chance to learn about about horticulture, agroforestry, pig and dairy farming and hospitality from outstanding professionals. Also, harvesting wild apples, my main responsibility, became one of my favourite activities. I deeply appreciate the freedom and independence I was entrusted with. Tim, Louise and Jo were great leaders I could rely on for guidance and questions. Every day was different and I made sure to contact various staff members to arrange activities with them. My love for nature, organic agriculture and hospitality quickly had a chance to shine through and I found true happiness in Bishopstone. Forget about city life, this is the real deal. During my stay, another WWOOFer joined in and we had the BEST time together. We spent our evenings at the pub hanging out with villagers and staff members alike. It's a very laidback environment and we made a lot of friends along the way. In terms of food and lodging, we stayed at a staff cottage where we had our private rooms and a shared bathroom. You could help yourself to cook your own meals, or go to the pub and ask the chefs for food. Some shifts can be hectic, specially in the summer, so you must be mindful to talk to the chefs at a reasonable time. You'll fall in love with Wiltshire!

This farm is in the most chsrming little English village called Bishopstone (population of about 400) right on the edge of the Cotswolds. My work was pretty equally split between wild fruit picking, field work and pub work; which was pretty much what I requested, as I like having a variety of jobs to do. I stayed at Eastbrook farm for 3 weeks but really wanted to stay longer! All the people of the small town come to hang out at the pub they run, and they're all in incredibly cheery and nice, including the staff at the pub! The have many youngsters working there who are absolutely delightful - and i cant say any less for the town gents who have been coming there with their mates weekly for 30+ years. You get food at the pub or shop. Food is good and chefs super nice (vegetarians may need to work with the chefs a bit), but the kitchen hours vary on the day, so keep on eye on them/go early do for dinner! I stayed in a proper house shared with the 2 lovely pub managers and the one other WWOOFer at the time. I had my own room, there's a different head person for everything, so try to get aquatinted with the heads early so you can get quality time in the area you want. If you take initiative and ask, everyone's more than happy to give you time and include you in their work! There many towns/villages in the area well worth visiting (Bath, Bristol, oxford, the stone henge, etc) and London is only an hour away by train! I hope to go back soon. Highly recommend!! ----❤️

During my month stay at Eastbrook I picked hedgerow fruit to supply the pub and organic shop. Tim made me feel very welcome, as well as all the wonderful pub team, and I felt well fed with delicious meals at the pub and generally well cared for.:) I stayed in a smart shared cottage just opposite the pub. The farm is beautiful, especially on the quiet autumn mornings, with hedges filled with apples, plums, damsons, blackberries etc, and regularly saw green woodpeckers and the skies filled with red kites. I also helped Tim pick some apples from local gardens. I really enjoyed my month in Bishopstone and will hopefully visit the pub again.
