1500-acre organic farm. Pigs, dairy, arable, agroforestry, small-scale vegetables - field, no dig and poly tunnel.
We have occasional openings for WWOOFers when we have accommodation available. All our farm activities are fairly independent so a level of experience of working with animals is required but we're happy to teach the vegetable and agroforestry elements. This is a very commercial operation, with some heavy machinery involved. A driving licence is desirable. Due to the wide range of activities for WWOOFers we prefer stays of a minimum of 4 weeks at a time.
Accommodation is available in one of our shared farm cottages and WWOOFers live independently, not with a family. WWOOFers therefore need to be over 18 years of age, preferably older, and willing to be relatively independent from time to time. Meals are available in the pub and essential groceries are available from the farm shop.
Organic methods: Wholly soil association organic methods
Certifications: Soil Association
Projects: we would be particularly happy if WWOOFers are keen to participate in vegetable growing and all it entails (sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting); the developing agroforestry (planting, mulching, pruning, harvesting); enabling the farm to remain accessible to walkers via our network of public and permissive footpaths; and for those with experience with livestock, sharing in supporting their welfare.
