Set in the middle of a forest in the South Wales mountains, the farm is an idyllic mix of stream, woodland and wild flower meadows with enough space to allow us to practice regenerative agriculture and community building at the same time as letting areas regenerate and be whatever they want to be. We are off-grid for everything so water is filtered from a spring, electricity from solar, and heat from the fire. We are not completely renewable yet but working to that goal. Everything is designed around permaculture principles. Opportunity to be involved in the following, depending on your interests: - no dig veg patch and polytunnel - planting, weeding, harvesting etc - forest gardens - we have started a small forest garden and planning a much bigger one so opportunity to be involved in the design - foraging and preparing medicinal herbs and mushrooms from our meadows and woodland - also planning to get laying chickens Beyond regenerative and resilient agriculture, the farm also exists to provide space for people to connect with nature, both on our land and within themselves. To support this there may also be natural building projects underway if you want to get involved. Accommodation will vary by season and availability: one room currently available within the cottage; alternatively there’s a wood cabin complete with burner, kitchenette, and compost toilet, and a very large caravan. Hot showers in the cottage for all. All food will be organic and vegan with veg from the farm as much as possible. Communal lunch and dinner, typically dhal, stews and the like, hearty salads when it’s warm out. Breakfast will be help yourself (bread, porridge etc). At present on the farm, there’s me - Amir, 44, moved here 3 years ago with my partner Elise - she's currently in London but supporting from afar; Qamer, 28, who came here as a volunteer but loved it so much is now a long term partner; my dog Otis; Mozart the horse; a regular stream of guests; and a myriad of wilder beings. Day time activities round here are hiking in the forest or mountains, mountain biking, river swimming and such like (loads on the doorstep and even more half hour drive away, including the Bannau/Beacons). In the evenings you are welcome to unwind by yourselves or we might light a fire (inside or out), put on some music, and imagine a better world together. The nearest town is Llandovery which is about 7.5 miles away (half on a dirt track). If you don't have a vehicle, you're welcome to borrow my bike, or I'm happy to take you to town (either Llandovery or Brecon, slightly further but slightly bigger) around once a week. There will also be opportunities to get a lift with me if I'm going further afield or join me and Otis when we go to the mountains.

Amir and Qamar are such lovely, down to earth people who clearly care about what they do and have a lot of love for people. They looked after me so well, always accommodating and welcoming. I learned loads, and ate amazing healthy, Iranian food. Plus, the site itself is stunning - really love what you guys are doing! Thank you so much for the experience!

This is a good place to wwoof. The work was varied and interesting. I was given the trust to decide when I worked and count my own hours. The food was great throughout, we shared almost all evening meals together which helped me feel at home quickly.

I spent three amazing weeks with Qamar and Amir. They were very kind and chill, and it was a lovely experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, and I will never forget it. I will always be grateful for the help and support they gave me when I was injured in a bike accident. I highly recommend volunteering in [Host] farm .

Awesome time helping on this smallholding with Amir and Otis! Started a project building a small structural frame out of fallen pines. Learned lots about solar and water usage being so remote. Dog walking and all round good times. Thank you for being a wonderful host!

We had a lovely, nurturing time at Amir's farm and campsite. The work was rewarding, we felt welcome and seen, had a lot of good conversations around the campfire in the evening, and the land and its surroundings are just so beautiful and calming. The project is still very much in a developmental phase, so your own contributions are valued, but we think you must be able to work independently a bit and know your way around tools to have the best experience here! All in all we would definitely recommend this place, thank you so much for these wonderful weeks Amir, Qamer and Otis! We hope to see more of your project in the future.
