I spent two months looking after the horses and cows. They were very smart and had great personalities. I enjoyed every day.My daily tasks were cleaning the stables, watering and feeding horses and cows. Thanks to Ben, I have learned so much and met so many great people. This is the perfect place for people who want to spend time with animals in nature. If you spend a lot of time here, you will miss horses when you go home

I worked at [Host] Farm for three weeks over Christmas and New Year and am incredibly grateful for the time we spent together. The people I met are very warm, generous, and committed to what they do. Animal welfare is very important to them, and it was a great pleasure to see how well the cows and oxen were treated. You work in teams of 2-3 people, with one permanent member always present, which gave me a sense of security, especially when dealing with the oxen. Wwoofers help 5-6 hours a day, 6 days a week, and it's good not to pay too much attention to the time because there are many breaks during the day, but that also means that the days are long overall and you don't get away from the farm very often. The farm is a spiritual place; as a Wwoofer, you hear mantras every day and experience some of the spiritual practices of the Hare Krishna movement – it's good to bring a little interfaith openness with you here. Thanks to Sita Ram, Rasa, Sophie, Dom, Helena, Claudia, and Jaana for this incredibly enriching time, hospitality, and experience of a farm that cares deeply about animal welfare!

I had a great time with Anne and Mathew. They really made me feel at home. Anne knowledge about growing and preserving is inspiring. I learned a lot while I was there, from making apple cider vinegar to yogurt... Lots of information and learning. The weather wasn't great while I was there but me and Mathew still managed to fix some raising beds and start their new poll tunnel. Reggie and Mabel (the dogs) and are also very friendly and fun. I can really recommend their place if you want to learn about growing your own vegetables and sustainability. Thank you Anne and Mathew

I had a wonderful week despite the rainy weather. The house is great to explore, if a little chilly, and the gardens and woodland on the doorstep are something special. I really enjoyed my time with Emily and the family. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and I felt very much at ease. There was a lot going on and tasks were varied; I weeded and mulched beds, woodchipped paths, planted trees, removed brambles, pruned apple trees, and helped store and stack firewood. Overall, a great experience!

During my stay, I learned practical skills, like how to scythe, carve a spoon, and stack wood. There were lots of opportunities to be creative which I really enjoyed (eg constructing a shower screen out of hazel poles). Jude was brilliant at hosting. She was welcoming, warm, and great fun to be around. We had lots of great laughs/discussions over dinner. The food was great. She was very thoughtful about everything, and made sure to check in with us. Her home was lovely. Sitting around the wood burner together in the evenings was really nice. She was really communicative, before and during my stay. The work schedule was great. It always felt structured, but also flexible. I was always clear on what task I'd be getting on with, and was able to work autonomously. The flow of each day felt nice, and matched the peacefulness of the woodland. The woodland was such a special place, and I felt moments of joy, peace, and wonder. During our spare time, Jude would take us on nice outings - we went to a wild sauna which overlooked the river dart, and then went on a lovely hike. There are some beautiful walks near Ashburton which are easy to access from Jude's house. I had an amazing time, learnt a lot, and felt so welcomed by Jude. She is such a lovely person and a joy to be around. I loved how open she was to experimenting with woodland management; mixing study, experience, and a touch of intuition in her approach. Her deep care of the woodland and wildlife was evident. Thank you!!

I spent three amazing weeks with Qamar and Amir. They were very kind and chill, and it was a lovely experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, and I will never forget it. I will always be grateful for the help and support they gave me when I was injured in a bike accident. I highly recommend volunteering in [Host] farm .

I stayed for a week at the end of January and I had 2 other fantastic woofers with me ! I had a wonderful wwoof experience in [Host] with Rebekah and her family ! All the family welcomed me with open arms and heart since the very beginning of my stay. The main activities we took part in: cleaning inside and outside the house, gardening, feeding chickens and horses. I really enjoyed cooking and sharing the food moments, all the meals has been an amazing exchange opportunity of different cultures sitting by the same table. Beside the work on the farm, I have been given the chance to seeing the outstanding landscape of the southwest coast (Valley of rocks) and to ride horses, with Bob and Chloe, the beautiful horses of Rebekah and Mia. And last but not least, be present the Wassail, a pagan Winter tradition in Western England where people sing to the apple trees to encourage a good harvest. Thanks for having me ! I definitely recommend to go wwoofing at [Host] with Rebekah and her family !

I had a great time at Greg and Teresa's farm. The work was interesting and I learned a lot, Greg is patient, funny and will teach you anything that has to do with a farm ! He'll also have lots of things to say about how great potatoes are compared to pasta, but he's obviously wrong. Jokes aside, the accommodation is nice and cosy, beware the WiFi is a bit slow though. But that'll give you more time to visit the region, there's a bus stop nearby that'll allow you to go to nearby cities. If you're looking for an organic farm, with a nice host that'll give you many various jobs (egg cleaning, veg picking, sowing ...), that'll provide you with nice food and a cosy accommodation, it's the place to be ! It was my first woofing experience and I had a great time, thanks again to Greg, Teresa and all the people I met there :-)

My stay was wonderful! Becci is incredibly welcoming and works hard to ensure that wwoofers feel at home. She adjusts tasks to best suit weather, individual preferences, and ability. I especially enjoyed the homemade bread and horse riding on sunny days. If you are lucky enough to be there for the Wassail, you are in for lots of music and a fantastic time.

Diolch o galon Owain, I wanted to see how sheep farms in upland Wales can take on regenerative land management. You have a wonderful way of sharing your knowledge and letting me in on your farms story. But best of all, I felt part of a way of life on [Host] farm. From scanning sheep with your Mam & Dad, clearing a hedge for a neighbour, felling a tree with Gareth, a memorable night out at the local and the warmest of welcomes from you and Wonda. I feel incredibly lucky. Diolch unwaith yn rhagor. Cofia, byddai'n wych cwrdd yn y dyfodol agos, Kerry.

I had a great experience at [Host]. I felt welcomed into the community with open arms, and even though my stay was short I made meaningful friendships. Most of my work was in the garden or the kitchen. Even though it was my first time wwoofing I was met with patience and a safe space to learn new skills. Thank you for having me!!!!!!
