Thank you so much Sid, Drew and Tracy for these amazing 2 weeks and a half at the Forbidden Fruits and Vegs ! I was completely marvelled by the beauty of the place and by the kindness of everybody ! Wherever I went, it was beautiful : the house, the cute village of Badminton, the chickens, the vegetables (yellow and purple kale, rainbow kale : I can't recover from so much beauty). Whereabouts are splendid. I learnt a lot alongside Sid and Drew about tomatoe plantations, kale growing, the care for the earth, and was moved by how much they shared with me about goats, chickens, the earth, about too many things to just enumerate them all. Sid, Drew and Tracy were very caring about me and the other woofers, making sure everybody is doing well. It was amazing to be part of this community, taste the delicious meals, cook myself, meet other wonderful woofers (may Bonnie and Ethel be blessed). When I turned back home and my relatives began to count how many times a day I spoke about woofing !

I only spent a week at Naomis, but it was wonderful. I learned a lot about gardening, ducks and soil. My favourite "job" was to cuddle the little chicken though. We also went on a hike with Paul and his son and that was an amazing opportunity to see more of Wales. Everyone made sure you're feeling safe and also like you're part of the family, which was really lovely. So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

We spent the most wonderful 9 days with Nat and Julia and all the animals on the Croft. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home - Nat and Julia are incredibly warm and generous hosts who really live by their values and those of the WWOOFing vision. As a queer couple they made us feel very safe, accepted and welcome. They have a lot of knowledge about the Western Isles and made sure we got to see a number of beautiful places. We thoroughly enjoyed their company - our time was full of fun, laughter and interesting conversation! They are also both fantastic cooks and mealtimes were a joy - not only because of the delicious food but also because they were a time for connecting and sharing. In terms of the work itself - we loved this and learnt a lot. Nat and Julia make sure that WWOOFers get to do a range of interesting tasks and feel that they are truly participating and learning. We particularly enjoyed working with the sheep and learning about their care. We got to help with feeding, trimming hooves, cleaning bums (!), and moving them from one pasture to another. We were there in spring so got to hold many beautiful lambs. We also really loved working in the new polycrub and being given the opportunity to plan the layout and content of the raised beds. The set up is rustic, beautiful and thoughtful. We stayed in the bell tent, which was beautifully made up for us. The outdoor shower is a highlight! We hope to go back and would full-heartedly recommend! <3

The 10 days that I spent in Naomi’s farm were enriching and unforgettable. In my time here, I had the opportunity to weed and plant several garden beds, paint/decorate various areas of the farm, and care for the adorable ducks and chickens. Naomi and Paul were patient and encouraging when guiding me through tasks, and I learnt a lot from them about the skills and mindset needed to properly manage a farm. Everyone I met was incredibly welcoming and made my first wwoofing experience a really enjoyable one. I appreciate the time we spent playing board games together, learning how to make homemade pasta and cheese, watching the beautiful sunrise from the castle, cycling along the Welsh coast, and most importantly, the amazing conversations we had along the way. The accommodation was comfortable and, as many past wwoofers have mentioned, Naomi’s cooking is delicious. Thank you to Naomi and Paul for stringing together this wonderful wwoofing experience. I hope to be back one day if given the chance.

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe our time with Kevin and Sue. It was the most relaxing, educational, rewarding, and laughter-filled experience and we cannot recommend their homestead enough. The accommodation was clean and comfy, we felt very welcomed and at home from day one. The work differs from day to day so no chance to be bored, and Kevin and Sue are more than willing to share their knowledge while working together on any and all projects around the property. So much kindness, generosity, and amazing food in one home- Sue and Edmond are INCREDIBLE cooks. There is always time for tea, and so many "stories to dine out on" over the dinner table that we will never forget! Kevin, Sue, & Edmond also make sure that their WWOOFers make the most of their weekends, with endless suggestions on what to do and rides to the nearby train stations. Suffice to say we will be dreaming of Sue's baked goods and the beautiful gardens of Trevina house- thank you so very much for everything Kevin & Sue! We hope to be back one day to see the Gold Garden in all its glory :)

Mandy and Gregg are the loveliest and most generous couple you’ll encounter! It was my first experience WWOOFing and was amazing! We did all sorts of work, you could choose from whichever you wanted to but mainly working on developing the pond they wanted to create, pruning, gardening and great cooking. Such a cute and lovely home, delicious cooking and definitely much more than just volunteering. Almost felt like a holiday! Highly recommend. Super comfortable room with your own bathroom. I look forward to coming back and working there again :)

I really enjoyed my time at Meike's! Such a lovely place very well built and pretty ; the small house where I stayed was entirely for me, my own space, bedroom and even a fridge and a table to work on some writing projects. I slept very well and the meals Meike prepared were healthy, balanced and quality oriented. The conversation with her were very nice, profound and fun, we've had some good laughs as well as sharing deep ideas and lifestyles' experiences. It was very enriching knowing about her and her inspiring journey. She really respected the 4 hours work per day and was very encouraging about the work done! Regarding the tasks we did mostly weeding, cutting the grass, dead-hedging, watering and general maintenance of this gorgeous garden. Thank you for welcoming me Meike, it was very pleasant ! Take well care

Jenny has given a lot of consideration to the WWOOF experience and purpose from both sides. I felt warmly welcomed and looked after. Jenny involved me in several social outings, introduced me to friends, introduced me to foraging and gave some great ideas for exploring.                                                       There was a clear work structure and plan and I was allowed to work out the best way to do things. Positive and constructive feedback was regularly given.            The caravan is very comfortable and the food plentiful. On work days we took breaks and lunch together which was really nice and created a sense of team.               If you come here alone you will spend a lot of time on your own. It is a remote location and you may find yourself chatting to sheep. The locals are friendly but there aren't many of them and you might just see the same local farmers most days. Outside of work there is loads to do; beautiful walks, beaches, camping, music etc. Having a car was a major plus.  In summary this captured the essence of Woofing for me;  learning, contributing, self discovery, amazing travel experience, meeting wonderful people, inspired to do more. I have no hesitation in recommending Woofing with Jenny but have a good read of her well written listing to make sure it is right for you.

I had a really good time at Stephen Gelly Farm. Martyn and Helen were great hosts who treated me almost like family and really cared about my wellbeing. I was there during lambing season, so I mainly worked with sheep and lambs, did a lot of fencing, and also helped with other jobs such as painting. I also got the chance to feed and look after the bottle lambs and learned how to handle them properly.

My time at Ballimackillichan Croft was absolutely fantastic! Sarah was very welcoming as was the entire Island. You‘d be living as part of the family with your own room (sea view!) but you‘d be welcome in any part of the house and there are loads of books to be read and various instruments you might want to play:) The work is very reasonable and rewarding and well structured and explained. Food is always freshly prepared and you are welcome to cook once in a while too. You probably don’t want to leave the island as there are loads of paths to be explored and the occasional ceileigh or choir, but if you do Oban is just a ferry away. Thank you so much for that great time, hope to see you again!

In short summary, our stay with Lorien and his family was delightful, inspiring, convivial and wholesome. The jobs were varied, and included clearing bracken and brambles, planting a future willow coppice and taking down a stone wall. But there was so much more to our stay than just working. We were made to feel part of the family and enjoyed some fascinating conversations around the dinner table and the fire. We had plenty of opportunity to explore the nearby hills and fields while walking the 2 family dogs. Lorien also took us on some great trips out including to a riding stable and a swim in a local river. Lorien and his family were the definition of friendly and welcoming and despite us arriving in a live in vehicle we were given a lovely cabin to stay in with an incredible collection of books to read in the evenings by the cozy wood burner. Thank you Lorien, we will be back to cook you more delicious food!

I had such a fantastic time and want to extend my upmost thank you to Becci. The food was fantastic and I felt so welcomed onto the farm. I learnt about growing vegetables and helped with furniture restoration and some jet washing. Becci was really patient in her teaching. The hours are typical 9am -12pm and one hour for lunch. Then 1-3pm.
