**NOW FULL FOR 2025. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE RE 2026** Beautiful climate positive (solar, hydro, biomass) west of Scotland estate, farm, distillery and walled garden undertaking a variety of activities with the environment very much at its heart. WWOOFers are required to assist in the Victorian walled garden with flower and fruit production, hosting our new commercial seaside sauna, Rhododendron clearance work, tree planting, path building, general estate management works, and firewood production. We also have an on-site gin distillery, which includes a wellness geodome, so some work may be required helping out in the cafe or bottling gin! A small cottage, ideal for a couple, on the estate is available for volunteers, and we can offer a fantastic variety of rewarding work within a fun workplace environment. WWOOFers would be helping with farm tasks for roughly half of each day. The estate is located approximately 2 miles from the small fishing village of Carradale which has a pub, hotel, cafe, shop, and golf course. There is a daily bus service to Campbeltown, which has a variety of entertainment and shopping facilities. We have an EV charge point and volunteers with a vehicle would be useful however one can be made available for trips! Certifications: Not certified but minimal to zero chemical use Current projects: We have recently purchased a commercial mobile sauna and this will be located by the sea and will be a new addition to our wellness offering. We are also getting some pigs to help regenerate areas of land. We are developing a network of old paths, which may include a new Himalayan rope bridge! Internet access available

By road, we are located approximately 12 miles to the north of Campbeltown on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula. Buses travel between Campbeltown and Glasgow on a frequent basis, and there are also weekday flights between the two.

I Wwoofed at [Host] from 15th until 30th July. I was mainly fruitpicking and flowerharvesting in the peaceful walled garden with its polytunnel. Emma and Niall are truly warm and caring hosts. They'll do everything to make Wwoofers happy. I felt treated like a princess rather than a volunteer. I stayed in a cosey appartment with a great view. I was spoiled with food and drinks for my own, was invited to join a Gin Tour in the local distillery, and had dinner in the castle with the rest of the family. I enjoyed strolling around the estate with its majestic trees and wildlife encounters, or going to the estate’s private beach to watch the sunset colors on the hills of neighbouring island Arran. There was plenty of time to discover the surroundings and to visit Carradale, the nearest village . I recommend Torrisdale Castle Estate for Wwoofers who appreciate remoteness and solitude - in the most positive meaning of these words. Remoteness, but close to nature and civilization. Solitude, but only if and when you wish, whilst only a smile away from the company of everfriendly staff and welcoming inhabitants. For me, this absolutely great Wwoofing experience felt like a succesful reset. My body and mind came completely to rest at Torrisdale - without the use any special tactique or exercice. Just work, eat, drink, enjoy and feel celebrated by all the people that I have met there. Thank you so much everybody for this wonderful stay in splendid Kintyre-Scotland!

What a place!! My time at Torrisdale Estate has included all manner of tasks around the tranquil grounds from carrying out wood processing for the biomass boiler to path making and clearing Rhododendrons. Helping out in the cafe at busy times and more often than not tending to the extensive walled garden. Niall is a highly recommended host in my book AND what a location too!! Don’t miss your opportunity to stay in this secluded yet wildly beautiful part of western Scotland. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of welcoming and funny folk to have spent the last 3 months with.
