We have a beautiful organic market garden and our produce is served up as delicioius meals in our onsite cafe as well as sold through our own honesty shop, The Veg Shed. Our farm team currently consists of a Head Grower and Grower and weekly volunteers from the local community. We occasionally host WWOOFers who are keen to learn more about organic and regenerative farming. Minimum tillage, green manures and compost are used to promote soil fertility and plant health on over 4 acres of land. We have a small orchard and we will be implementing exciting new agroforestry practices in our field scale cultivation. Our large polytunnels are no dig and thriving. We need help with all practical tasks involved in growing and harvesting all year round. The actual tasks will vary with the seasons. We are looking for team-players and fast learners who have a desire to live more deeply with the earth. Ideally, you can demonstrate a genuine interest in organic horticulture. Previous experience is useful but you will learn a lot on the job. You’ll be working as part of the farm team and we ask for a 4 days of work per week, with specific days to be agreed with our head grower. We are also hoping for WWOOFers that will stay with us for a minimum of 3-4 weeks, with potential for a longer visit by mutual agreement. We will check-in with you and the residents after a week of your stay to see if everyone is happy with the arrangement. The language of communication at work is English. About the site On site you will find a café, artist studios, a natural therapy centre and a market barn in which we host events, such as our monthly markets. We are also very lucky to be located by a nature trail, with hedgerows full of wildflowers and foragable goodies. A great part of our life here is the River Teme which bounds our land and is great for cooling off in hot weather. Accommodation is in our beautiful rambling old farmhouse. There is the option to camp for those who would prefer to bring their own tent, or to bring a live-in vehicle. Groceries will be provided for you to cook your own meals, and you will be expected to keep all communcal areas clean and tidy. All food in the farmhouse is strictly vegetarian or vegan. No pets are to be brought into the farmhouse. We are currently about 9 people living on site (although not all working on the farm), living in the farmhouse, a straw bale house, a shepherd's hut and various vans, but the number does vary. There are musical instruments on site. Sometimes people socialise together or organise events, but everyone has their own interests outside of work, so it is important that you are also happy to spend time on your own and to entertain yourself. There are plenty of books to read and wifi access. The Fold is situated on the main Hereford road equidistant between Malvern and Worcester (3 miles). There is a local bus to and from Worcester, but operates a limited timetable. We can collect you when you arrive, but ask that you are self reliant once you are here. See more of the farm through our Instagram or Facebook: www.instagram.com/thefoldcommunityfarm/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090306879918 Or see our website https://www.thefold.org.uk/ for more info about the place and volunteering here. Organic methods: We make and apply lots of compost to generate a rich soil biology. We also use companion planting where suitable. Certifications: Soil Association AB19126 Internet access available

I had a really great experience at [Host]. I stayed for 4 weeks, working on the farm Monday to Thursday. [Host] is an inspiring and interesting place and I loved getting to experience how the farm fits into the community. The work was physical as you would expect from growing, but very rewarding, and the people who work there made me feel very appreciated. I had my own room on site in a farmhouse, just steps away from the onsite cafe and artists studios which made it feel like you didn't even need to leave the place on your time off! There are plenty of people around, and I got to go to some events while here (traditional Indian music evening, open day for 'Green and Away' eco-event site which pops up there in Summer). It's an interesting place with a mixture of people who live on and off site which I enjoyed. The head grower is very approachable, appreciative and enthusiastic and was a pleasure to work alongside and I particularly enjoyed the days where longstanding local volunteers came to join (and the chats over tea break). I would definitely recommend [Host] and I hope to return some day :)

I am having the absolute best time at [Host]. I ended up extending my stay because of how welcomed and cared for I feel, I have learned so much being a part of the farm team and could not have asked for a better first WWOOFing experience. I cannot recommend [Host] enough, I feel as though I will always have a home here!

What a beautiful, soulful place this is. My WWOOFing experience here went beyond what I could ever have imagined. Lovely community, gorgeous veg (and meals!), and animals all live here. There is never a dull day always with so many new and interesting people to meet, and things going on around the Fold. I am so grateful to for the opportunity I had to WWOOF here, and anyone thinking about applying here would be really lucky to :). Definitely go for it! Lots of love, Shany

I've spent 4 weeks at the Fold this summer. It was the first time in my life that I had to work. It took me one week to get used to the work on the farm. I was working 40h per week so during the first week at the end of the day I would go straight to bed. But after I got used to it I became closer to the other volunteers on the site and I met people I'm glad I met and that I will never forget. I also met a lot of people down at Green & Away. One advice would be to go and meet them as soon as you arrive so that you won't regret it just before you leave. I recommend The Fold to people who are not afraid of working and want to met really nice people such as Lucy and Dave.

I was wwoofing for my first time at New House Farm and I felt at home and welcomed from the first day. My stay was fantastic - inspiring and joyful! It was two magical weeks in the middle of the summer with so much life and spirit and the atmosphere came still higher by the conference Green and Away. Everything was in blossom! It was a very rewarding experience and if I can find the time one day I will definitely wwoof at New House Farm again or volunteer at Green and Away. :)
