Hello and welcome to our Farm
We are a family run food growing project, growing seasonal, traditional and outdoor fruits and veggies, and flowers!
We grow a lot of the crops on a ridge system, and we have 8 polytunnels. We grow approx 1/3 of the produce from seed, and the rest of the crops we buy from an organic nursery.
This is a Demeter certified biodynamic veg farm, this means we follow organic growing practices to a very high standard, make and spread our own herbal field sprays to increase soil and plant fertility, and observe the luna calendar with planting, seeding and harvesting - making sure to give our veggies the best chance to thrive - so that consumers of this food may thrive!
The Farm is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We host students and those who are most interested in wanting to learn about veg growing,
Toos, Rosa, Guy and Tom, and Roger helps as well. One invisable cat, two donkeys and many MANY wild animals and insects!
We are vegetarian and vegan.
Toos has 45 + years of experience in vegetable growing, And would like to share her knowledge with those who would like to learn: Volunteers and farm friends :)
There are beautiful walks around the area and stunning views of the south downs, and the farm is close to brighton and one hour from london, so perfect for your holiday!
Thanks for reading!

If you want to learn about farming, to experience the farm life and to meet some great people surrounded by amazing landscapes, Layne's Organic Farm is the perfect woofing place.
I had a lovely time during the two weeks I stayed there!Rosa, Tom, Toos, Guy, and Jess are amazing people, always there to help you or to ask you if everything is okay. The variety of the work is really wide, and you'll never get bored because there is always something different to do! The work is also really rewarding.
The caravan I've been sleeping in was a really nice little place :)
The farm is a peaceful, calm and really beautiful place, I highly recommend you to go woofing at Layne's Organic Farm!
Thanks to everybody ;)

I went to woof on Laines Organic farm end of August/beginning of September of this year. It was my first experience woofing and I can't imagine a better place to do so. The place is very lively, the vegetables they grow really beautiful and very diverse. I learned a ton of things in the short span (2 weeks, felt like 2 days) I was there. I had the opportunity to plant, harvest, deweed, come help sell at the market and even participate in a Demeter Event and go visit another farm. I had the chance to be there for their end of fall Party and had a blast at it.
The people at Laine's are very welcoming and had had woofers for many years so you will feel at home.
The days are well occupied but we had frequent pauses, for tea time and lunch.
Overall a really great experience and a lovely farm with lovely people! I highly recommend :)

I WWOOFed in many places around England and nowhere did I find such kind, generous and creative people. The farm, and the village next to it, feel like you have travelled back in time. Nothing but good things to say.:D
