Hi Everyone, thanks for being interested! I'm looking for people to help get my campsite ready: Anytime between 7th - 19th April, 2026 ??? Do send a message! I have been slowly turning a scrubby field into a farm, over the past 10 years. Our farm- is a permaculture and organic farm. It has a mixed and a Sussex heritage apple varieties orchard, two sheep fields, a small woodland (cool in the summer) and a successful meadow restoration project. There is a small communal barn for woofers to use, a caravan with gas cooker that sleeps 2, a converted horsebox that could host a couple, plenty of room for tents and a camper van if you are on a road trip! It is off-grid for everything, but the host lives 10 minutes drive away so can facilitate showers and clothes washing. This year I am hosting woodland woofers in September - A WOODLAND WOOFERS WEEKEND September Spend time in the woodland area mostly creating woodstores, chopping firewood, collecting kindling and helping maintain woodland ahead of winter. Bushwhacking rhododendron, managing sycamore seedlings and other woodland activities. The host would be up for sharing concepts of basic woodland management in exchange for people keen to chop, sort and build woodpiles! Quite an un pressured but productive long weekend- join for the dates that suit. Just message for more info. There will be plenty of time to explore coast & towns nearby. Campervans welcome.

I spent 13 days with Anna, and I had no time to be bored ! Anna is a fabulous host. She took care of me : we cooked one after the other and it was so good ! We ate pizzas 3 times at the pub. I lacked nothing. The land is calm and I liked the different tasks that I realized. It was really pleasant to observe the improvements. We got out often and I met a lot of her friends. She showed me a lot of places and advised me well. I enjoyed my stay in Hastings ♡ I'll come back without hesitation ! Thanks you Anna :)

Thanks to the relaxed and accommodating host Anna, I really enjoyed my time on Small Meadow Farm. I knew very little about permaculture, but thanks to this experience - and Anna’s enthusiasm - I now understand how this can offer an alternative way of living. Although I live in London, I hope to incorporate some fundamentals, such as strengthening communities. This was a new experience for me, and I thoroughly recommend it. I also loved meeting and learning from the experiences of the other woofers.

Anna organised a woofers' week with four volunteers to build a compost loo and other projects. She looked after us very well. We went on a beautiful walk to the coast, had a barbecue on the fire at the top of the farm, did plenty of stargazing and generally had a great time. We also learnt a lot from a local carpenter, from Anna herself, about how she set up her farm, and shared information and ideas amongst ourselves. Generally an inspirational and enlightening week. Highly recommended !

Anna has been a very generous and enthusiastic host. Her farm and meadow were a joy to work on. I really enjoyed doing work in her forest row, creating a tree nursery, being a part of the progression of the farm, as it becomes a suitable woofer space, and meeting her sheep. She took us to the beach and on wonderful country walks. We ate very well whilst there, I was comfortable and looked after, and I have made 4 new friends, 5 including Tommy the dog! I will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Anna!
