Eco lodge / wilderness adventures / homesteading
South Ayrshire
Hello, we are Morgan & Robyn and we offer two properties where we can host volunteers.
Our properties are situated in South Ayrshire and Fife and we try to do 2 weeks at one and two weeks at another.
Location 1:
8.5 acres of meadow in South Ayrshire and located within Scotland's first UNESCO Biosphere, with the South West Costal 300 tourist route driving right past our front door. We also sit within the Galloway Dark Sky Park, nestled away in the Straiton Hills. We are surrounded by amazing waterfalls and scenic views.
Location 2:
10 acres of property in The Kingdom of Fife, just south of the Tay Estuary which has the largest Reed Bed in Europe with many rare birds.
To trade we are a Gardener and a Sawyer (Wood Milling) and we offer many land based tasks to include woodland management, vegetable and fruit gardening, woodworking projects, animal care and more.
This means that willing participants have the option to work at either property for 2 weeks at a time or 4 weeks at two properties (travel included between both properties).
We can provide knowledge in:
Pruning and forming
Soil structure
Composting techniques
Garden machinery
Tool use/maintenance
Hard & Soft landscaping
Animal care
Our main aim is to:
Regenerate wildflower meadows
Plant native trees
Create and maintain working vegetable and fruit gardens
Build and install greenhouses for exotic citrus fruits and grapes
Create homes and maintain the lives of Chickens and Alpacas
Maintain an existing orchard of Apple, Pear, Cherry & Plum and Poly Tunnel
Create Eco-Systems via ponds and wetlands
Create woodland walks
Install artistic sculptures on said woodland walk
And mostly... to have fun doing it!
We also have a business side which WWOOFers would not be required to partake in but may gain benefits from. We are building a small unique eco friendly off grid glamping site which also offers courses such as foraging and Reiki.
Organic methods: No pesticides/herbicides
We encourage beneficial insects by retaining habitat
We compost everything and utilize ammonia as fertilizer
Crop rotation
Current projects:
2 greenhouses need erected and sited
Current meadow paths and orchard needs mowing/strimming
Creation of veg patch
We have woodland to maintain
Foraging hedge to be established
Composting toilet needs building.
And many more projects that are not immediate.

July 2025
I spent 3 weeks with Morgan, Robyn, and their lovely family. There is so much to learn at their farm from gardening techniques to woodworking projects. They are willing to support personal projects (I carved a little wood sculpture and made a can crusher with another WWOOFer). The scenery is great and is made better by evening tea and great conversation. In terms of the practical, you get three square meals a day. Lunch and dinner are with the family and breakfast is on your own. Basically all work days follow the schedule of 9-1 and a few hours after lunch. I found the work to be rewarding. For long term stays, they try to get you a project that you can see through from start to finish which is gratifying. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place and the controlled chaos that comes with a young family and so many dogs.

I had the opportunity to spend a week with Morgan and his family and can only recommend it absolutely. Everyone is super warm and it was just lovely to experience their daily life a bit.
With all the animals on the farm, it was totally relaxed and it worked great with my dog, who didn't really know that yet.
I mainly worked in the garden, pulling weeds and pruning bushes. I was able to listen to podcasts while doing that. It was a very nice experience. Thank you!

I've spent 6 wonderful weeks in Fife. I really enjoyed working at the sawmill, making flooring boards, working in the polytunel, learning how to make chutney, plant trees, building shelves...
Buskin Burn is a wonderful place also, I would never forget the 5 days I spent there.
As a first woofing experience I couldn't hope anything better.
Morgan, Robyn, Ele, Denys and Lucy are all amazing people, I'm very grateful for their kindness and generosity

Thank you so much to Morgan, Robyn, Ele, Dennis, Lucy, Della, Sprocket, Lancaster, Alan, and the dogs for a most lovely visit to Newburgh. From the moment I stepped into the house, I felt like family. During my stay, Morgan was committed to teaching me new skills through the process of working on a variety of projects. I learned so much! I loved working on refurbishing the poly tunnel, planting tatties, making jam and pruning fruit trees. The surrounding area is simply gorgeous with so many lovely walks in nature. I will look back on our games, drinks and merriment with fondness! Thanks to all :)
