Small plant nursery on West Coast of Scotland
Highland
1. Describe your project, your place, and its inhabitants (including animals):
We are a small plant nursery on the west coast of Scotland, supplying trees, shrubs, perennials, vegetable plants and vegetables to local communities.
2. List the activities that WWOOFers will participate in and what you want to teach them:
Taking cuttings and plant division, potting on plants, helping to maintain and keep the garden tidy, growing vegetables in our raised beds and polytunnel, and management of our oak woodland, including helping to make new paths. Helping with our small flock of chickens.
3. What could a WWOOFer's day look like at your site (time slot for participation in activities, expectations...)?
Starting around 10 am, mornings spent around the display area, re-stocking and making new plants, or potting on existing ones. Moving plants around so that seasonal plants are highlighted. After lunch, afternoons working in and around the garden and woodlands, mainly on general maintenance.
4. Play the guide! Talk about your own hobbies (music, cooking, etc.) and those possible around (hiking, swimming, etc.):

Gill and Martin are wonderful people. They made me feel very at home and their dogs are a blast to be around. The area is very beautiful and I enjoyed going for walks around the village.
The nursery was very quiet and peaceful. I was able to work with the plants that Gill was growing and weed the gardening areas.

I spent some days in Glenborodale Nursery and it was really nice. I was with a friend, we worked around five hours a day so we had a lot of time to discover the awesome landscapes and beaches around the nursery. Gill knows a lot about plants and her garden is very beautiful. We learnt how to make cuttings, we did repotting, sift compost… We had a room each and a private bathroom and Gill cooked for us very nice meals. If you like nature, plants, beautiful landscapes, and to having time for you, this is the perfect place to go!
(As French people who don’t speak English very well, we needed some time to get used to their accent, I think it could be more comfortable if you speak well English!)

I spent five lovely and sunny days at Gill's house! Gill and Martin are welcoming, generous, and always available. I felt very comfortable there, with a great room and delicious meals prepared by Gill.
She is truly passionate about her plants and enjoys sharing her knowledge. Her garden is charming, and you can learn a lot about Scottish species of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
During my stay, I helped Gill with composting, taking cuttings, and planting out plants.
The region is also stunning ! You can go hiking in the hills, swim in the sea lochs, or simply enjoy peaceful walks along beautiful bays.
Thank you Gill for everything !

Gill was super kind, flexible and open to host me and make it work even despite only wanting to stay for a few days and not being able to invest more into working with her and her land. She was cooperative, made the time to research ways of arriving at her place and was well reachable.
Unfortunately I wasnt able to stay in the end due to an injury that caused me not being able to travel and work. I would love to get to her in summer and wish her all the best until then!
