1. Describe your project, your place, and its inhabitants (including animals):
I'm sorry but we are now completely full until the end of September 2025! But do ask us about WWOOFing after that!
We live in a medieval farmhouse on 15 acres, much of which is left as "natural regeneration", some of which we're gently teasing back into productivity. It's very peaceful, lots of trees and birds and stars.
There are 5 residents in the farmhouse, plus Anni in a Tiny House and Mart in a van, plus visitors. WWOOFers will be accommodated in a beautiful room in the farmhouse. We live as a family and share meals and jobs. Some of us go out to work too.
Our family also includes a lovely big golden retriever, a crazy puppy, four cats, chickens and two Icelandic horses.
We're aiming to be self-sufficient, learning to use our polytunnel and starting to make compost and claim back some of the fields from the brambles.
2. List the activities that WWOOFers will participate in and what you want to teach them:
Activities depend on the season, but might include caring for vegetable plants at various stages including harvesting and processing (eg. juicing) and cooking; working with compost, fencing, helping to sort out horse pastures, caring for fruit trees, herbs and hedgerows.
Our horses are very friendly and love to be groomed - and you might even get a ride!
We can teach veg growing and fruit processing and horse care.
We're good listeners and this is a great place for a retreat in between work. Our main crop is Peace!
Very happy to hear from experienced WWOOFers who can teach us too!
3. What could a WWOOFer's day look like at your site (time slot for participation in activities, expectations...)?
We get up and feed the animals between 8 and 9 before breakfast, and WWOOFers often like to do this, then we'll do a few hours in the polytunnel or veg beds or hedgerows and you'll have some time free too. Three good meals of course, mostly veggie but with occasional "happy" meat.
We aim to stop for a few minutes of quiet prayer or meditation together two or three times a day.
4. Play the guide! Talk about your own hobbies (music, cooking, etc.) and those possible around (hiking, swimming, etc.):
We encourage creativity and have lots of resources for art and music. Sometimes we have a bit of a jam in the evenings, or go to the local Open Mic. Cooking on the Aga for between 6 and 10 people is fun and we all enjoy taking turns. We also read, do jigsaws, play board games, swim. We usually have a film night on Sundays!
We run a 'forest church' once a month, with stories and contemplation around a fire. Some of us also go to church or the Quakers on Sundays but that's entirely optional of course! We love visiting the local markets and generally joining in local community events.
The Stour Valley is a beautiful area with lots of opportunities for walks and visiting quaint and historical sites, if you have your own transport. We also have bikes you can borrow.

Sara and Mike are astonishing people who allowed me to have a magic, warm and touching stay at the [Host]Farm. We spent Christmas and new years eve together and I felt like being part of a loving family. I loved the animals, the work and everyday life. All the people are touching, patient, friendly, humorous and deep souls.
The time meant much to me. Thank you!

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a blissful couple of weeks with everyone in the Rising Hope community. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind. The location is serene. The house is out of a magical fairytale. The "work" needed is just pitching in to maintain the garden, harvesting/preserving produce, and providing basic care for the chickens and horses - all very chill. I really enjoyed sharing meals, movie nights, and quiet evenings at the puzzle table together. Getting to check out Sudbury - especially the market and all the charity shops - was fun. The whole thing was such a wonderfully peaceful experience. I very highly recommend spending time here if you have the chance.

My experience in the [Host] Farm was grateful for me. I really enjoyed work in this farm and spend time with the community. I learned a lot over English language, culture and househabits. I recommend this farm for her lovely people and animals.

[Host] Farm was an incredibly enriching experience.
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the kindness and genuine care of the people there.
The work was varied, meaningful, and truly engaging—each day brought something different and fulfilling.
The farm is a lively and welcoming place, with people coming and going thanks to its small, vibrant community.
My room was wonderful, and the meals—prepared by everyone in turn—were always delicious.
The moments of prayer and meditation are a central part of daily life, and they brought me a deep sense of calm. They allowed me to step back, recentre myself, and find inner balance.
Thank you. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and peace.
