Hello wwoofers!
Here we grow beautifully tasty and nutritious organic vegetables on our market garden set in the stunning Teign Valley in Devon. Our 4 acre CSA produces weekly vegetable bags for the local community throughout the whole year. Our mission is to produce tasty, healthy, local food that has a positive impact on our fragile environment, reducing our reliance on supermarkets and industrial farming, and bringing together our local community.
We’re looking to host wwoofers anytime between April and October.
Our minimum stay is two weeks however our preference is 1 - 3 months to give everyone time to settle in. We're also looking for someone to stay at the farm as a season long wwoofer for 2026 which is a great way to learn lots and see the land change over the whole growing season!
As a wwoofer you’ll be working with the farm team consisting of Holly, Leonie, Lucy, trainee Mia and a wonderful group of dedicated weekly volunteers. Work will vary seasonally and each day is always different on the farm, but some of the tasks you’d be involved with include:
- harvesting and packing veg
- seed sowing & planting out
- weeding in the field and our polytunnel
- farm & tool maintenance
We make a big effort to ensure everyone in the team isn’t stuck doing the same task all day and this will be the same for wwoofers. That being said, the work is physically demanding and particularly during the summer there is a lot to be done.
Work days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday to make sure someone from the farm team is around to support you.
We share the farm site with On The Hill who run land based programs for children and families (check out https://www.onthehill.camp). There is a lovely and sociable community of people who live on the farm from both Teign Greens and On The Hill. You’ll share a big outdoor kitchen (inc. wood fired pizza oven!), nice hot showers and compost loos with the community. During the week we all have lunch together and there are regular social evenings/activities for the whole farm team to come together. In terms of where you’ll be living, ideally you’d bring your own tent, but depending on the dates one of our beautiful vintage caravans may also be available - get in touch to find out if we have one free.
The farm is located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park so you can spend your days off hiking there or even closer exploring the beautiful Teign Valley. We’re also only 30 minutes drive outside of Exeter if you need to pop into town. Having a car/your own transport would be handy though as public transport is limited in the area.
