Jo and Tina run the farm along with friendly and hard-working residential volunteers. At the heart of the farm is our abundant market garden and orchard, spread over about 6 acres of ecological fruit and veg growing. All our produce is grown in harmony with nature, with no chemicals or other nasties, we are certified as an organic farm and in conversion to biodynamic. We also keep a small amount of Shetland sheep, kunikuni pigs and some chickens. A typical day starts at 9am, with a 20 minute tea break at 11am and a shared lunch from 1pm - 2pm. The work here is incredibly varied and activities vary depending on what time in the season you will join us, you can expect some seed sowing in our wonderful polytunnel, planting, tending, harvesting, and cooking of vegetables and preparing the various spaces for the programmes we run for young people and families. Our days are often filled with lots of different activities and you will more often than not be working with some of our team too! We welcome people bringing their own van, caravan or tent and we also have a few have vintage caravans and bell tents for residential volunteers. (We're not able to guarantee a particular accommodation arrangement in advance of confirming dates - what's available depends on how many people are here.) We have a shared lunch on the days we are working together. At other times it is over to you to cook and prepare meals, either for yourself or with other residential volunteers. There's an abundant larder full of organic whole foods and an entire market garden full of vegetables at available to you. We are located in the luscious Teign Valley, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, meaning we are well placed for hiking, kayaking, swimming etc. We are a 20 minute drive from Exeter, which is our biggest city, closer by there are smaller towns and villages. We also have a weekly community choir on a Tuesday!

I stayed 1.5 weeks here at the farm, and it taught me a lot about ways of living on the land, in community, and about myself. Jo & Tina run the farm which grows an abundance of food, with people and nature at its heart. There are permanent residents, and a more transient community comprising other woofers, day volunteers and visiting groups. It has been the loveliest bunch of people to be part of and truly makes the experience all the more special. Farm tasks were varied and included picking sunflowers, harvesting veg, weeding and preparing beds, apple picking & pressing for cider making! Evenings/free time were spent with other volunteers, sharing interesting conversations, card games, cooking, yoga & walks. There is also plenty of spaces to take yourself off to when needing your own time, and the caravan I stayed in was very cosy. There is also community choir on Tuesdays which I definitely recommend joining in with! Thankyou for creating and sharing all that [Host] and the rest of the farm has to offer - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and definitely hope to come back for a longer stay in the future :)

We have both really enjoyed our time at [Host]. The jobs are varied and the people were lovely to get to know. There are lots of WWOOFers as well so you meet a lot of like minded people. We will visit again! :)

We had a great two weeks at [Host]. We felt really welcomed and supported. The Monday morning check ins and community meetings were really well held and offered a chance for us to share how we were doing. The accommodation was comfortable. Getting to see the educational work the project does was really inspiring and seeing how the facilitators worked with the young people. We were also really lucky that there were lots of other great wwoofers while we were there, offering community and people to do fun things with after work - like go to the river for a swim or a day trip to the Sidmouth Folk Festival. Thanks so much for having us! We'd love to come back sometime.

Have you ever heard of The Peach Blossom Spring? Somehow, I feel that this ideal, untouched oasis exists here — southwest of Exeter, on the edge of Dartmoor. I spent six weeks at the farm, and I enjoyed every part of it dearly. This experience, and the community around it, nourished me in ways I didn't fully expect. It brought me closer to the land, to wildlife, to myself, and to the people in this community. Life here is simple, but never empty. There is always something happening: working in the garden, digging potatoes, harvesting sunflowers, making jam, baking, looking after the land, sharing meals, listening to music, or simply sitting together and talking. I learned a great deal from the people I met here. Everyone brought something different to the community. I stayed in a bell tent, which became one of my favorite parts of the experience. Even when the nights were cold, it was surprisingly cozy. I slept under the stars twice during my stay as well and woke up several times to a sky full of stars above me... Thank you to everyone who welcomed me, worked with me, cooked with me, laughed with me, shared their stories with me, and made these six weeks so memorable. I am leaving with a full heart, many beautiful memories, and a feeling that a small part of me will always remain here. I hope to see you again, somewhere under the stars.

It was an absolute delight to have Michael as part of our farm team and we hope very much that he will return. He arrived from the city with an open mind, immense curiosity and willingness. His approach to farm life, farm community and farm work was unhesitating, dedicated and joyful. I could go on celebrating him, his presence, his contribution ... a real gem!

I had such a fantastic time volunteering at [Host] these past few weeks!! The community that exists at this place is really special and everyone welcomed me so warmly to the farm, making it easy to settle in and feel at home, even as a first-time wwoofer. Jobs during the day were very varied and included weeding, planting, harvesting, cider bottling, and more. A highlight was feeding and interacting with the pigs, chickens, and sheep. The farm itself is beautiful and lush. While it is not close to any large town there is a bus stop an easy and beautiful 20 minute walk away with a bus into Exeter, where there are lots of shops and you can get the train to anywhere you want. Accommodation was lovely in a vintage caravan and communal lunches were always delicious - there were often leftovers available for an evening meal as well as a fully stocked kitchen with essentials and access to fresh vegetables from the farm. There is lots going on around the farm with community events and activities, programs, and school visits - days were very full but always rewarding and filled with learning, great chats, and plenty of cups of tea. I hope to someday come back to this gorgeous place.

I spent about two weeks on the farm and had a wonderful insight into working with young people and into the general community life at this beautiful place. It takes a little time to settle in there. There are many people, and sometimes also children, around — especially when you are not feeling your best, as I experienced because I was ill. However, everyone was very open, helpful, and caring. I felt very comfortable on a personal and human level. Despite being sick, I am very grateful for the time I was able to spend there.
