*** FULL FOR 2025*** Please note we are currently full for the rest of the year, thank you for everyone who has contacted us. We are a couple seeking help around the smallholding — particularly in the Walled Garden and the woodland — as we work towards creating a more sustainable way of life. Come and help us develop our smallholding and restore the Walled Garden to its former glory. We have approximately 12 acres of mixed land, including a walled garden, an orchard, 4 acres of grazing, and 6 acres of woodland. We are a hidden gem with a back drop of a castle dating from the 1500s, and tucked away on the east coast of Scotland. A typical day will be spent, feeding and cleaning the animals (our animals - 2 horses, 4 sheep, 3 rabbits, 3 dogs, a cat, and soon to have some chickens), Then working on one of the following projects: Fields - Clearing the fields of fallen trees, moving/repairing or building new fences around the farm. Topping/harrowing/seeding and rolling the fields to maintain the grass. Walled Garden/Orchard - Gardening and weeding to clear the way to build the greenhouse and poly tunnels, make vegetable beds. Woodland - Take down the old fencing and replace with new fencing, collect young beech trees and replant around the fields and the marsh. rebuild the Victorian woodland walk, restore the Lilly pond and build a bridge. We are a household of 3 people, myself, Graham and his son who all have mixed diets. We mainly eat a vegan/vegetarian diet but happy to accommodate others, we plan to eat meals together most nights you can have the option to live in our glamping pod or you can stay in a caravan or tent. We both enjoy horse riding, swimming, cycling, gardening, and walks with the dogs. My other half likes to play the piano. I also have experience in teaching languages so happy to help you with your English, I am fluent in Spanish and have a basic level of other languages, my other half has a good level of German, he is also very skilled in wood husbandry and happy to help teach you handy skills with wood work, our house and all our wooden outbuildings have all been hand built by him with wood he has sawn himself from our sawmill which is based here on our property.

Staying at the Greenhouse was a truly wonderful experience! We spent a month with Graham and Shelly and got to do so many different things — from fencing, clearing, and ground maintenance, to taking care of the animals, which we grew to love over our time there. We looked after horses, sheep, dogs, and rabbits, each with their own personality, and it was a joy to be part of their daily routine. We were offered a wide range of different tasks and had the chance to take on projects independently as well as work collaboratively. We stayed in the glamping pod, which was a cool experience, cooking together was always fun and on our days off we explored the beautiful nature around the farm. Graham and Shelly are warm-hearted and lively people with big plans which we are happy to have contributed to and learned so much along the way. Their kindness made us feel right at home from day one. We are really grateful for their hospitality and for making our first WWOOFing experience truly unforgettable. ^^

Our first experience was great ! Animals were amazing ! Taking care of them was lovely time ! We went out of our confort zone, so it can be difficult but an nice experience. We came in the farm not at the good time because of family issues so it was not really organised , but our host was taking care of us ! Thanks for the very delicious food and the board game night all together, we enjoyed it !

Thank you so much to them for all ! The couple is really nice and lovely with me, we had laugh a lot ! They learn me english ( because i'm french, and i don't speak english a lot), i could choose my time to work, and what i prefered in the task to-do list. I had inaugurate the pod !!! It was really nice to sleep in !! The trip it was more better ! In my day off, when Michelle or Graham could, leave me to the railway station, for i visit the country. However, at the beginning, i thought to work/do task more with the animals and less in the garden, but i had do more in the garden. After i speak with them, and really comprehensive with me, and i had can do more with animals. So i think it's better, if the next woofeur, if no speak really english, understand more clear what he will do. But they are really listening with me, and they really want the woofeur do a good experience in the green house, so its so nice. Again, thank you for all, and see you a next time with pleasure xx

I spent a lovely week with Shelly and Graham. They picked me up from the station and dropped me off again at the end of my stay. There’s a beautiful nature walk to the nearby town, and they were happy to give me a lift there as well. I really appreciated the flexibility — I could choose when to start and take breaks, and there was a mix of tasks I did independently and others I shared with Shelly or another volunteer. There was also some freedom in choosing what kind of work to do. The tasks included a variety of things like gardening and helping with the animals. Although there’s still plenty to be done on the property, the guest room was a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay. I would definitely recommend spending time with Shelly and Graham!

Shelly and Graham are so lovely. We had such a great time at the green house and I fully intend to return soon. It was so fun to work with the animals and help Shelly and Graham work towards their dreams. We loved that they wanted to help us explore Scotland and gave us lots of recommendations and were so excited to share their love for the country with us. The work was always exciting and we enjoyed sitting down to plan our days and always looked forward to the delicious food. We had so much fun laughing and chatting with them any time of day. It was so fun to work alongside Shelly and hear her stories. We loved getting to know Graham and rolling laughing at his jokes. They are both so passionate about the work and sharing what they know. The animals are so cute and friendly we miss them so much! I highly recommend this lovely farm and the lovely animals and most of all these lovely people.

I will never be able to express how wonderful my stay was. Michelle and Graham are truly a special couple trying to build their home/farm and I felt very special to be a part of it and to help. I really am heartbroken to leave and feel enough to call them friends or my Scottish cousins. Even the visitors and other family members were so sweet and amazing. They did a lot to make sure my sister and I were ok and tried their best to make sure we got to explore around and have time to ourselves. Change to plans happens a lot because so many things need to be done, so you need to be adaptable. This is not a negative thing for me but I know some people can get antsy if they don’t have a schedule. The house itself is still a work in progress but it is a beautiful house already, and will be quite the legacy when it’s complete. You would be very lucky to help this families farm and be a part of this chapter in their lives.

Thank you Michelle, for your lovely kind words! You both played an amazing role in getting our first few projects started here. Particularly the green house! We were honoured to have had you both come stay and start this journey with us. We and the dogs have missed you, and I can't thank you enough for the help you gave us during your stay, especially with the new puppy Honey. She is growing up fast and really starting to settle into the life here. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.
