Hello, we are Mandy and Greg and we have a little, old dog called Tiny. We moved to our small holding two years ago and we are using organic and Permaculture principles to turn our land into a productive site that eventually will become a community land trust. We've planted a small orchard, hops and other edible plants. We have many projects underway and in the planning stages. As our land is quite varied we have different ideas for different areas. For example, we have two open fields on chalk downland. One is going to be a wildflower meadow and the grass needs clearing (we plan to get chickens and they will help with that). The other is going to be an edible meadow and we have started building some hugelkulture mounds. There is a fenced off wooded area that will have the chicken house and that needs some pruning. Another open field is going to have a wildlife pond and our 'secret garden' will be a nice area to sit with no-dig vegetable beds. We also intend to dig swales inbetween the trees in the orchard. We are very pleased to say we have recently bought a very small mini digger to help with this work. Of course, there is always general gardening to do to. We also keep bees. We have a couple of spare bedrooms with their own bathrooms. We'll have meals together and can cater for vegetarians and vegans, although the kitchen very occassionally has meat or fish prepared in it. We appreciate any help you can give us with cooking and meal preparation. We are quite creative, Mandy is an artist and Greg a photographer. We sometimes have Raku pottery firing sessions at the farm. We also enjoy, and sometimes teach, partner dancing such as jive, swing and tango. We are in a rural setting. There is a pub a couple of miles away. Dover and Deal are a short drive away. We're happy to give occassional lifts. We are about two miles from the sea.

I had such an amazing time with Mandy and Greg! As a new WWOOFer, I tried my best, and they welcomed me warmly and gently. Their project is developing fast, and it's incredible to follow their journey. We usually worked a bit and then headed off to a community event or to visit a town on the coast. The county is magnificent and green, and their farm offers a peaceful and quiet place to relax and enjoy the countryside. We used to cook altogether, and share all meals, which was an occasion to exchange and discover new recipes. You'll be able to taste a delicious carrot cake or a yummy Thai curry! I am so thankful for these two weeks with them, and I would recommend anyone who's eager to meet interesting people and live in a community to come as a WWOOFer at [Host] Farm. If I can, I'd love to come again!

I spent a wonderful time with Mandy and Greg on their farm. This experience will stay with me for a long time. I value not only the nature-oriented approach to the environment, but also the warm-hearted and open-minded relationships with the numerous WWOOFers. The gardening, the shared meals, the trips to the surroundings, the participation in social and cultural events - I was able to enjoy every "item on the program" and would happily recommend it to others. I have so much to tell everyone back home now :) Thank you so much!

I couldn’t speak more highly of Mandy and Greg. I absolutely loved spending a week in their beautiful farm. They are always happy to suggest things to see and do in the area, cater to your diet, and even adapt to your bad english level. The farm is such a lovely place that it makes you want to get involved in their eco-friendly project, where they grow all sorts of different things and also have a beautiful flower garden! An experience I absolutely loved and would highly recommend :)

Mandy and Gregg are the loveliest and most generous couple you’ll encounter! It was my first experience WWOOFing and was amazing! We did all sorts of work, you could choose from whichever you wanted to but mainly working on developing the pond they wanted to create, pruning, gardening and great cooking. Such a cute and lovely home, delicious cooking and definitely much more than just volunteering. Almost felt like a holiday! Highly recommend. Super comfortable room with your own bathroom. I look forward to coming back and working there again :)

Mandy, Greg and Tiny the dog welcomed us into their home. The accommodation was very comfortable and the food was delicious. We enjoyed sitting round the table together chatting. There were a number of tasks to do around the farm, we focused on a few areas and were left to complete these tasks, working at our own pace. The setting is lovely, with walks available and a short distance from the seaside town of Deal.

Where to begin… We spent two wonderful weeks with Mandy and Greg, not forgetting little Tiny. They are incredibly gentle, very warm, and always in good spirits - you quickly feel at home. The work is light, and it’s clear they welcome people mainly for sharing and meeting others. It was much more than a WWOOFing stay: they brought us into their daily life, with friends and outings. We had some truly great encounters, despite the language barrier. Jazz evenings, exhibitions, visits, walks, cafés, sometimes a drink at the pub… always in a simple and authentic atmosphere. And a big highlight: they cook amazingly well, every day. It was a real treat! The house and outdoor space are truly peaceful, a place where you feel good, slow down, and disconnect. A beautiful human experience above all. Highly recommended!
