We are on a 8 acre small holding situated in a village with less than 100 houses and would be considered quite rural. There are busses in and out of our village 2x a day. We have stunning sunsets and have gorgeous walks on our doorsteps. wildlife is in abundance and we been told to have over 19 bird types at a time with lots of bats. This is a rural and in my biased opinion stunning location loads of wildlife and walks - 20 mins by car from Malton, 25mins from seaside and 50 mins from York. We have loads to offer, however are not a working farm, if you are looking more into the agricultural side/breeding animals we unfortunately probably wont suit as we are more alternative. We run a charity on site working with kids out of education or at risk due to mental health difficulties/ behavioural needs and social care for adults with disabilities. We use forest school and outdoor learning as a way to connect. (You wouldn't be working in the charity with young people just site/planting maintenance which would support the charity.) I'm earlyish 20s (they, them) 3 people including myself live in the house (other 2 are my parents). Neurodivergent friendly (Audhd myself) no under 16s Have to be dog confident No bigotry please We are trying to build accessible paths / clearing nettles / building work/ animal care. We are also rewilding an area and setting up a large polytunnel There's always a slew of jobs available. Some jobs can be repetitive and I will ensure there is variety but with a lot of land management it involves a lot manual work. We want to work and learn alongside you. If you are passionate about for example tree planting we and happy to set that up. Or if your into aquaponics lets find a way to DIY that. We have sheep, turkeys, goats, dogs, cat, chinchilla, rabbit, guinea pigs. So if you would like more experience with animals we would be looking a lot more at teaching you care and helping out with them. If you want a more relaxed stay could be looking at 3 longer days a week gardening or animal care in mornings and some DIYing if you'd like 1-2 rooms or a caravan or hard standing concrete for your own caravan if you wanted. Food can be provided- mix dietary requirements are ok. I'm vegan but one person eats meat and one is GF (not celiac) and vegan so we can accommodate a range of diets. the house is a spacious 5 bed house We are laid back not always the tidiest DIYers. We love our animals and our work. Love of music and if you wanted we could organise lessons as dad is a music teacher. Also a great lover of wit and humour and board games. The horses on site we do not work with and animal care is often done by young people accessing support on weekdays. beautiful estates near us including Sledmere. We are 25 mins car ride from the coast in Scarbourgh and Bempton cliffs. York is a 50 min drive that we take 2x per week if anyone wished to join us. Malton is 18 mins away and is the food capital of Yorkshire

I had a great time wwoofing with AIM! I really got to know the family who are absolutely lovely. I spent my days taking care of turkeys, goats, sheep, and chinchillas, as well as helping out with the young people. Expect lots of arts and crafts and great meals. I got to take trips into York, Leeds, and Whitby while there. I hope to meet them all again and would definitely recommend wwoofing here!

I had a great time at [Host]! Ruth, Jess and John were excellent hosts. They were good fun to be around, cooked delicious meals, and were kind enough to drive me to and from good hiking spots on my days off. For the accommodation, I had a room to myself in the main house, with a separate bathroom and good wifi. For the work, I did a range of things: taking animals out and back in, operating a digger, planting trees, repairing their polytunnel, building a new compost system, building a planter, and much more. I would recommend coming here!

I had a lovely and eventful time during my stay at the farm. I met interesting people with varied life experiences which allowed me to open my eyes and learn from them. The 2 dogs (Poppy and Millie) were a joy to be around and give belly rubs too. The tasks I was given were very fun and they allowed me to enter my own space to fully focus on completing the task to the best of my ability.

My WWOOFing at [Host] was pleasant and happy. I'm glad I chose this place, and that Ruth, Jess and John accepted me so well. It was good to see their genuine care both to the animals and the humans. Without taking the animals as an instrument for helping people, but giving them respect as individuals. And also having a lot of respect to the people from all kinds that are visiting the farm. I felt that they also really cared for me. Giving attention to what I need as a guest in their home, what I need during the working day, and having interest in what I think and what is my life story. Hearing me and seeing me. The story of how they got to start this project is very impressive and inspiring. At the end of my WWOOFing, they asked me for feedback about how it was for me and what they can improve for the next WWOOFers. That shows care and willingness to listen. I got a big and comfortable room, so I had my privacy and my space. WWOOFers should be ok for dogs in the kitchen, and some barking.

I had an absolutely lovely WOOFing experience at [Host]. Though I only spent a week at the beautiful site, it felt like a month because of all I've experienced. Among other things I was introduced to animal care, helped preparing a Family Day for their charity and learned what it is like to live on and look after a farm. Ruth and their family are super kind and I enjoyed every evening, sharing meals, playing board games or just having great conversations. I would highly recommend WOOFing at [Host] and would love to come back in the future. My first WOOFing experience couldn't have been more inspiring and interesting. Thank you so much!

This was my second Wwoofing Experience and it was a wonderful stay. The work was very varied. We build a Polytunnel. Everyone always made sure that I felt well. In the evening after dinner we mostly played board games or cards. I was part of the family and therefore naturally participated in the daily housework I can recommend Animals in Reach without reservation.
