Organic Croft in the Highlands
Highland
We are a couple living on our Croft in the Highlands of Scotland over the past 6 years. We have been and will continue to plant trees, vegetable and herbal gardens, and keep chickens and bees at the moment. We also have woodland crafts & arts skills we would be able to share.
Our activities on a daily basis, depending on the time of year, would include maintaining the gardens - weeding, planting, harvesting. Establishing new beds for more produce using a no dig method.
Planting trees, and looking after them by protecting them from wildlife, feeding and watering.
In terms of building activities we would be working on fencing of new areas, and if interested green woodworking/timber framing projects.
We would provide food for breakfast and lunch with cooking facilities to prepare any hot meals. We would prepare and eat dinner together.
We have a cozy ‘shepherds hut’ for sleeping in (2 adults) and composting toilet facilities. We would share our shower and outdoor bath for use on a regular agreed basis.
We both enjoy outdoor activities in any spare time we have. Walking, wild swimming, surfing. There’s a beautiful loch and woodland walk nearby, and the nearest beach is only 15 miles away! We also enjoy going out on our mountain bikes, and bikes will be available for use.
