We are a Camphill Community, on the edge of Aberdeen. We work with adults with support needs, providing residential and day services, promoting independence and meaningful work. In the day service there are a number of workshops, such as Garden, Estate, Weavery, Kitchens and Candles. We also host a number of international volunteers each year. In the garden we grow food for our community. We grow a wide range of fruit, vegetables and herbs, for use within the community. We also have around 120 fruit trees, mostly apples, but also pears and plums. In addition we have many soft fruits, such as strawberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries, raspberries and jostaberries. There are lots of opportunities to learn about growing these crops and harvesting, as well as working with our laying hens, compost making, garden maintenance such as lawn mowing and hedge cutting and apple juice making between September to December. We have accommodation available in one of our houses, as well as a kitchen for cooking. We will provide food, with fresh products available directly from the garden. Monday to Friday there is a shared lunch. We are situated on the edge of Aberdeen, but is surrounded by nature and wildlife. There are forest and hill walks nearby, as well as the River Dee. Aberdeen is within cycling/walking distance as well.
